Collection: Capiz Shell

Capiz is a flat, oyster-like shell, which occurs in large quantities in the waters around the Philippine islands. The shell is fairly round and flat. In the Spanish colonial period they were mainly used for windows in houses because of their translucent character.

Care: If necessary - in the case of laminated capiz: briefly - wash the capiz in lukewarm soapy water. Do not put in the dishwasher or microwave. Avoid scratching the surface with sharp objects.
